Arthur's Day 2012 @ Beer Factory, Sunway Giza

To Arthur!
My 1st time attending Arthur's Day celebration. Despite of blogging about Arthur's Day last year, I was not able to attend. Now, my 1st attemp and hey, notbad.jpg.

AT first, I thought it might be another Hennessy-ish event where we blogger are "expected" to just chill and drink.

However, for the first time, the PR gave me photography pass.
I was like, what the heck?! I am really thanksfull but I didn't bring camera gear =.=|||
So all these photo are taken from mobile camera (HTC One X). It was not bad, color is quite real and noise was even better than my compact, just the focus was a bit slow.

As expected, on Arthur's day, Guinness Beer was the star. Serving with Guinness is some finger which don't looks nice and don't taste nice.

You may pay a little more for other stuff.
Their pizza was not bad, RM30++

As for the performance, we had
(inhale.... what a long name..)

And the shining Star of the night:
*drum rolll....*

Below are some of the video I took using my mobile. The audio was awefull but the picture quality was acceptable (with some obstcles)

New York Hotel, Johor Bahru

Hello from JB. Only it was few months back =.=
Courtesy to Resort World Genting and Nuffnang Malaysia. I was given a chance to visit the famous lion dance trope, Kun Seng Keng Lion & Dragon dance association prior to the 10th Genting World Lion Dance championship. My accomodation was sponsored in by Resort World Genting, staying in New York Hotel.

No. 22 Jalan Dato’ Abdullah Tahir
80300 Johor Bahru
Johor, West Malaysia

Tel : (607) 331 1588
Fax : (607) 331 8588
Email : newyorkh@tm.net.my

The double bedroom was very spacious. Other than 2 beds and TV,

The room has 2 more sofa and a coffee table with more space to spare!

The bathroom is extreamy spacious too. (Refer to 1st photo)
Like I mentioned in my previous visit, I evaluate a hotel and its services by it's bathroom. IF the bathroom is just so so, don't expect much from their services aspect too. New York Hotel's bath room is considered ok, clean and spacious. The only thing that bothers me is their "cacated" (misshape) shower curtains.

And as I would predict, the service is not very impressive. I tried to use their complimentary Wifi but I can't connect. When I ask the lobby counter about it, they say direct me to other ways to connecting and so on, still, can't get me online. Then at last the receptionist told me there are many customers having same problem I am not the 1st 1. I was like WTF? If you know already, why you didn't tell me earlier and cut the problem? Why wanna waste my time? YOu too boring at night want me to entertain you izzit? Piff! What's worse? They told me the connection can only be restore on the morning when their technician come in. Fuuuuu......

Despite the not so pleasant experience on the night, I had a great buffet breakfast on the morning.

Kun Seng Keng Lion and Dragon Dance Association 關聖宮龍獅團

DongDongRong DongQiang~ GongHei GongHei!
Heehee nope, Chinese New year is no where near. This is an overdue post on my visit to Kun Seng Keng Lion & Dragon Dance Association in Jahor Bahru few months ago for Sentosa Mall World Lion Dance Competition.

Typical Lion dance stereotype would be badass samseng that do bad stuff.

But these cute little fluffies only remind me of this:

Awww... *cute* <3

Look at these guy. It really subverting public's stereotype of Lion Dance troop equals to "samseng" which further related heavily dye hair, smoking, skipping class, drugs, loan shark etc. These cute guys do look like some honest, obedient bookworm that doesn't not have bad habits. This display a strong contrast of our perception towards to lion dancer troop.

What you see might not reflect to what it is.It takes years to train before they can preform and years more to be on a championship.

What we see are beautiful moves on stage

and cool pose

But how often we see their sweat, blood, injuries? I dare you to stand up on one of these pillars and you might shat your pants (not literally, I mean shiver), imagine they doing it everyday plus dancing, jumping, doing stuns with a giant lion head on them.

I had a chance to meet & interview some of these amazing teens.

Yeah, you see it right. They are not Chinese, they are Malays. Like other Chinese, they injuries during practice is not any light than Chinese boys. Few weeks before, one of them fallen from the pillar and got a few stitches on his head. When I asked them about the boy's parent reaction,  out of my expectation, the other boys told me he parents blame him for not focusing enough during training and asked him to be more focus once he healed.

If you are interested to know more about them, here is their Official Facebook Fan page http://www.facebook.com/kunsengkeng

Bonus of the day:

Me camewore again w.o makeup. Took it in New York Hotel. Click HERE to know more about New York Hotel.

Shiga Lin "Moment" Malaysia Tour 2012 @ Brem Mall

Accompanied my bf to Brem Mall yesterday for Shiga Lin's tour in Brem Mall.
Personally, I am not a big fan of Shiga but I do admire her voice.
The show kick start by an 8TV's MC (which I don't really know who he is)
ANd playing some games while waiting Shiga to arrive.
She is so skinny & fragile. Like if I blow a breth towards her, she would collapse LOL

She only sang 2 songs before signing. Then we left~
