Carousel International Coffeehouse [Food Review]

The last time I visit Palace of the Golden Horse is for it's tea part, I won 2 day 1 night stay and RM100 food voucher. The RM100 food voucher is for Ala Carte dine-in in Carousel International Coffeehouse. If you follow my twitter and Instagram, you will know I have checked in Palace of the Golden Horse this afternoon and had dinner in Carousel just now. This blog post is mainly for the dinner Ala Carte. I will mention the hotel and others related stuff on this journey in another post. Stay tuned ;)

When I open the menu, I saw like WTF is this? You are labeling the food in Malaysia Ringgit or Rupiah? I spent RM48++ for 2 person's dinner even though I have RM100 voucher. However, the food is really nice. I don't regret coming. But if it wasn't for the voucher, *bitch please * no thanks.

Soup of the day: Mushroom soup with garlic bread, RM12 per bowl
There are chunks of mushroom inside, very thick, but not creamy, the liquid is still very runny. There are sufficient herbs in the soup, but there is still something missing in it. The garlic bread has not enough garlic and it's not crispy enough.

Char-Grilled Lamb Chops, RM52.

With fried (or mashed potato or wedges) seasonal fresh vegetables or crispy garden salad, and sauce (black pepper sauce, Hickory Smoked Barbeque sauce, Mushroom sauce, Hollandaise sauce, garlic-herb butter or truffle sauce)

Salmon Steak, RM 48.

With fried (or mashed potato or wedges) seasonal fresh vegetables or crispy garden salad, and sauce (black pepper sauce, Hickory Smoked Barbeque sauce, Mushroom sauce, Hollandaise sauce, garlic-herb butter or truffle sauce)

This was what I ate, the Salmon was not oily from the outside, but still juicy from the inside. This is because the Salmon is well seared, that's why it's flavors are remain inside. With all the salt, pepper and herb minus oil, it was indeed not bad. The french fries are standard. The black pepper sauce is the bomb! Even my boyfy that doesn't like to have any sauce with his dishes also finish the sauce. The vegies are so so, the are boil, not grill, less fat more healthy but less taste. But hey, I have the fantastic black pepper suace, who need well seasoned vegies?

Below is just to show off a bit (ceh wah)
I can shoot his face 1 time and it's the perfect

as for his skill, bleh... shoot for few times still fail #facepalm

Overall: 7/10 [If it wasn't due to the Carousel RM100 voucher, I don't think I will dine here. It's really good but for a re-visit? No thanks.]
Taste bud indulgence: 9/10 [It's up to a hotel standard and I am not surprise]
Purse Saver: 3/10 [Though it's really nice and big in portion, but it's really expensive. Only recommend for special occasion.]
Location: 7/10 [This place is hard to find if you don't have GPS. I lost my way every time when I come]
Service: 6/10 [We waited quite some time for our food to serve]
